How the ASUS EeePC showed me I was wrong about... →
True, I didn’t have high expectations about Linux, so when I started playing with the EeePC I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was very easy to use. I was expecting a nightmare connecting the EeePc to my wireless network, but it took all of two minutes. I...

gina: “When someone that you would really hit it off with walks past you on the street, it plays a cheery tune that only you and they can hear. It’s furry, and purrs quietly when you pet it. In the rain, it unfolds into an umbrella. When you’re carrying one, you can fly.”

Disabled Spy Satellite Threatens Earth -... →
The satellite, which no longer can be controlled, could contain hazardous materials, and it is unknown where on the planet it might come down, they said. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the information is classified as secret. It was not clear how long ago the satellite lost power, or under what circumstances.  - Maybe it will land somewhere useful, like Saddam’s...

Kiss Blog - No To Knives →
Many people believe that taking a knife when they go out will help them defend themselves if they are attacked. In fact, many of the victims of knife attacks have their own weapons turned against them.  - I had no idea this was a problem.  I carry a knife to open boxes, and depend on my charming personality to defend myself.

EA Fighting Mad About Fox News, But Still No... →
In a single line text message sent from her Blackberry, Teri VanHorn, producer of Fox News’ Live Desk with Martha MacCallum, blew off Electronic Arts’ detailed call for correction over the error strewn report the show did on Mass Effect earlier in the week.

Here is the offending Fox News clip. It makes me sick to my stomach how ignorant and opinionated people are about things they know nothing about. Notice when the clips cuts off - right as someone says it is parent’s responsibility to … Guess we’ll never know what parents should be responsible for.

TSA to punish fliers for facecrime →
That’s just what you think it is: reading the expressions on your face to figure out if you’re a terrorist. The best part is the explanation of what they’re looking for: “TSA officials will not reveal specific behaviors identified by the program — called SPOT (Screening Passengers by Observation Technique) — that are considered indicators of possible terrorist...
